“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)
The Bible teaches us that we are to be kind, “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32 (NASB). In our fast paced world we have lost the ability to treat ourselves with kindness and respect much less others. We want things now which makes us impatient, we walk around with short fuses and are just waiting for someone to hand us the lighter to ignite the fuse.
Stop and think about how one kind word or one small act of kindness can change the attitude of someone else. It goes without saying that without Love we cannot show kindness to ourselves or to others. When we allow the Holy Spirit to transmit His love into us we will experience the quality of kindness God wants us to experience. All of a sudden being kind to ourselves and others is as natural as breathing. We do it without thinking about it.
Being kind to others comes automatically when we allow the Holy Spirit to flow it through us. We allow Him to use us as God’s portal.
“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;” Colossians 3:12 (NASB)
